We are no longer selling our flat. Main reason: the estate agents are cretinous oafs. I do not want them to make money from the incidental sale of our property, which they have done nothing to secure in the space of 15 months. The market is crap, yes, but they are crapper and they really couldn't have made it worse for us. So when the market does pick up, we shall sell and they will get nothing from it. I hope they go bust. We like living here, it's very near the boys' school (I do not approve of people driving to the school across town, oh no, walking is the way. Luckily we live within walking distance of a good school so I can be smugly content) and it's nice. We just don't have a garden and that's not the end of the world. So, stagnating for now.
As a result, we have got the stuff out of storage. To make room for this stuff, the accumulated stuff that has filled the space had to be cleared. Massive tidy up beyond the superficial survival that has been the way of housework. Oh boy am I tired, but:
I have changed over the wardrobes. A fairly simple and not time consuming task, and how nice it is to have my clothes all neat.
A query:
why has no one invented anything better than a coathanger yet? Coathangers are rubbish, clothes fall off them, they fall off the pole and they don't fit in a good number of wardrobes. I actually like the ones you get in hotels without a hook, they're a mild improvement, but there's a long way to go. There's a definite need for some innovative product design in this area. There must be a better way to hang clothes than on coathangers.
Most satisfying aspect of this task and the completion thereof is that it was next on the list anyway so I had no up, up, upping to do.
Due to a particularly vile and long lasting sickness bug, I've mostly been to my bed uncharacteristically early for a good couple of weeks now. I'm going to take this as not done, because it was through necessity and not goodliness. I must do it through goodliness. And I can't be arsed up, up, upping to be honest.
I have almost done the following:
- visited Manchester: I have a train ticket. I'm going on the 9th of May.
- got fish: I'm going to buy "My first aquarium" and a couple goldfish. I am. When I have £20 spare. I might rescue some from the dratted fair that arrives this weekend. I'll put them in the changing bowl and then they'll have to get a tank, it would be only fair.
- done a skidding session: I have a voucher, I have to book it.
- enrolled the children in playgroup: they start nursery three weeks today!!!!!!!
So, I'm getting there. S-l-o-w-l-y.

My nephew is an estate agent in Knightsbridge and already he's thinking of a career change. My brother is desperately trying to convert him into a bus driver!
Too right! Wire coathangers are the only ones of any real use (except for clothes, of course).
The twins in Playgroup any day now? Grown up so fast!
