So, to drive across the Millau Bridge.


It's breathtaking...

Grumpypants finds this rally to do: buy a £200 car and drive from Calais to Southern Spain. 8500km or so in a week. Costs £125 + sponsorship money. Plus petrol. Plus the car. Plus we have children. Plus we know very little about car maintenance: he can change a tyre, I can locate the dipstick. Plus he is Clarksonesque in his idea of a *good* car (comment: I was thinking a diesel Merc).

So, compromise time.

The Plan:

Drive to France, crossing the bridge (or viaduct, looks like a bridge to me), popping into Monaco
to drive *that* tunnel. Probably stop occasionally to sleep/take pictures of the sky/jump in the sea. Maybe stop in Paris for lunch.

This will be funded by a lottery win. If we do the lottery.
